Welcome to Montana and Big Sky Australian Shepherds

In 1993, I started doing USDAA agility with my first Aussie “Jake” (she’s a GIRL!!).
Luckily for me, Jake was a natural athlete and despite my inexperience, she went on to qualify for USDAA Nationals in 1994. That’s pretty much what got me started with this wonderful breed!!

Since then, my dogs have earned titles and awards in obedience, herding, conformation, tracking and flyball as well as agility. Ranger, Alice and Emma have earned two ASCA Breed Championships, one NADAC Agility Championship (NATCH), two NAFA Flyball Championships and two ASCA Obedience Trial Championships (OTCH). All three have won or placed in AKC and/or ASCA Most Versatile Aussie competitions at both local trials and National Specialty Events. I am proudest of those awards because for me the MVA competition represents the “ideal” Australian Shepherd.

My dogs have been bred and selected for exceptional temperaments, trainability, intelligence, athleticism and structural soundness. But most of all, they are all just “good dogs” and I feel fortunate to share my life with them!
